When I'm bored, I like to make little video games. This page is a gallery of my creations over the years- click on an image to give one a spin and gain access to the source code. All my games are Java Applets, so make sure you have the latest runtime installed. Your mileage/framerate may vary under Linux.

Neon

Neon is a space-shooter intended as a sequel to a game I made several years ago in DarkBASIC. The majority of this game was coded in about 2 hours as a friendly competition with my roommate.

Unloved

Unloved is another game created under a time-crunch- I made this for the MTU 24-hour game programming competition. Essentially, you control objects fleeing from garbage collectors. Your only defense is to protect one another with references- those who are unloved will perish.

Steamlock

Steamlock was created at a somewhat more liesurely pace over the course of roughly a week. This may just be my last space-shooter, and if it is I'm going out in a blaze of 8-bit glory.

Mines

One day, I found myself with a strange urge to play minesweeper. Unfortunately, OSX doesn't come with a copy of the game. It does come with a Java compiler, though...

Continued Quest

Continued Quest is, without a doubt, my most ambitious project yet. I've always wanted to make an RPG to call my own, so I went nuts and made a completely modular, extensible engine with it's own scripting language. Continued Quest is still being added to, but when it's complete I hope to make it an homage to all my favorite gameboy games as a kid.

ICEBreaker

Bringing back my traditional 'weekend game' idiom, ICEBreaker is a really simple codebreaking puzzle game. As always, I put a great deal of effort into evoking a classic retro feel. Be warned, this game uses sound effects!

Polyp

Coded over the course of about 4 days during spring break. Control a growing swarm of infectious cells and face off against immune cells in an action-packed petri-dish battlefield!

Icarus

The rushed result of realizing my team wasn't going to be able to complete our game for the 2008 MTU Game Jam. A decent, simple co-op space shooter. This took under two hours.
